The "Manhattanhenge'!

This Friday, July 12 and Saturday, July 13 in New York, get ready to witness a natural wonder, the Manhattanhenge.

The 'Manhattanhenge' a.k.a the Manhattan solstice is an organic phenomenon that occurs twice a year when the sunset perfectly aligns with the east-west streets on the main street grid in downtown Manhattan.

Apparently the best place to watch this event is on 14^th street, 23^rd street, 34^th street and 42^nd street.

So, if you are already heading to New York this weekend note this correctly: On Friday at 8:21 pm it’ll be a full sun on the grid, and on Saturday July 13 at 8:20 pm it’ll be a half-sun on the grid!
